Looking back, Heather Hillmer can’t believe her two years at Rutgers-Camden have already come and gone, but the well-travelled Air Force veteran says her stay was much more than just a pit stop.

Hillmer came to Rutgers-Camden in 2010 after a seven-year career as a mechanic for the United States Air Force.

Sungsoo Kim, a professor of accounting at the Rutgers School of Business-Camden, has been appointed president of the American Accounting Association’s Mid-Atlantic Region for the 2012-13 academic year.

Kim, a Cherry Hill resident, will preside over the region’s annual business meeting, appoint special committees, and act as chairman of the region’s steering committee.

Thanks to Rutgers-Camden artist Margery Amdur, travelers using the Broad Street Line on Spring Garden Street are getting a boost from below. The Philadelphia artist has installed a vibrant floor artwork that is a sea of colors, flowers, and layered designs that evoke Van Gogh, but have been skillfully reinterpreted.

Won through a competitive process sponsored by the SEPTA Art in Transit program, the commission has allowed Amdur, who teaches painting at Rutgers-Camden, to create 4,000 square feet of flooring, comprised of six large scale paintings that have been embedded into industrial resin.

The students presented their oral advocacy skills at the National Marshall-Brennan Moot Court Competition, held March 30 to April 1 at the American University Washington College of Law. Byron Guevara, a senior at Camden Catholic High School, was named "best petitioner," the competition’s top award.
